Information about eVisas

Most Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) have an expiry date of 31 December 2024 – as the Home Secretary has decided to replace them with eVisas. eVisas are a new, digital-only, way for people to show their immigration status.

The Home Secretary says people have to create an online account to be able to access and use their eVisa. Please note that if you were granted status after 1 November 2024, the Home Office should be creating an eVisa for you.

For information on eVisas and your rights, see the eVisas Bust Card by the3Million and Migrants Organise at https://the3million.org.uk/sites/default/filesPreview (opens in a new tab)/documents/t3m-MigrantsOrganise-eVisaBustCard-13Dec2024.pdf.
