Lucie Boase

Background

Lucie joined DPG in April 2024 and works in our London office. Prior to this Lucie worked as a Paralegal at Irwin Michell working closely with Gus Silverman, and at Hodge Jones & Allen where she then completed her training. Lucie undertook an internship at a public defenders’ office in New Orleans, Louisiana, assisting criminal defence attorneys in post-conviction mitigation work on behalf of individuals sentenced to life without parole while still children. She went on to work in the civil liberties team at Broudie Jackson Canter.

Expertise

Lucie is now a solicitor who specialises in civil liberties and human rights. She is experienced at representing bereaved families at inquests into deaths following contact with the police or as the result of failings by state. She also brings civil claims against public authorities in particular police and the Ministry of Justice.

Lucy is currently working on an unlawful detention group claim with Emily Soothill.

Memberships

Lucie is a member of the INQUEST Lawyers Group and the Police Action Lawyers Group. Between 2019 and 2021, Lucy was a co-chair of Young Legal Aid Lawyers (YLAL). She is strongly committed to enabling meaningful access to justice for all, regardless of ability to pay.
