Elliot is a solicitor who joined Deighton Pierce Glynn in October 2019 and who specialises in civil liberties and human rights. He has experience of bringing actions against public authorities, in particular the police, Ministry of Justice and Home Office; public inquiries and inquests on behalf of families who have suffered bereavement as a result of failings by the state.
Elliot trained and qualified at a boutique city firm. Prior to his training, he worked at several leading human rights firms working predominately in police actions but also spent two years in a family law department.
Elliot has a particular interest in challenging discrimination by police and is developing an expertise in claims arising from failures to protect and investigate in connection with violence against women, including inquests and claims in the civil courts.
Elliot is a member of StopWatch UK, Police Lawyers Action Group, Inquest Lawyers Steering Group and Young Legal Aid Lawyers.
